Devin Townsend’s musical mayhem is equal parts brutality and insanity. Among heavy metal artists, he is about as tongue-in-cheek as they come, glazing over his own vicious rhythms and aural beatings with a bizarre style that might even cause Les Claypool to smirk. But this is more than just music outside the box; it’s the highly refined and truly talented breed of metal that caught the attention of even guitar legend Steve Vai, who took Devin on tour years ago.
This week’s contest winner will have a chance to see Devin Townsend perform at the Hawthorne Theatre on October 27th, or at El Corazon on October 28th. As a special bonus, each winner will also receive an autographed copy of Deconstruction, the latest album from the band.
