Voodoo Glow Skulls And Authority Zero Team Up For Epic Ska/Punk Tour!

Two legendary punk/ska bands, one epic night! Don’t miss Voodoo Glow Skulls with Authority Zero, coming to a venue near you this month!

In these cold winter months, there’s nothing like a solid punk/ska show to help endure the lack of sunlight and constant rain drizzle. Lucky for you, Cascade Tickets is here to let you in on what is going to be one of the best shows of 2012!

Formed in 1988 (the year yours truly was born into the world) in Riverside, California by brothers Frank, Eddie and Jorge Casillas, the Voodoo Glow Skulls have been tearing it up with their own brand of hardcore punk, traditional ska, tough guitar riffs and the Mexican music of their roots to create the prototype for the West Coast ska-core sound, which would later influence bands like Sublime and No Doubt.

Grabbing the attention of Brett Gurewitz with their 1993 release Who Is, This Is, the band was signed to Epitaph Records, through which they released their next 4 albums before signing with Victory Records in 2001. I first saw the Voodoo Glow Skulls on one of the Asian Man Records-organized “Ska Is Dead” tours in 2005. There’s nothing quite like the Voodoo Glow Skull’s sound – part punk, part ska, part Mexican-infused skate music, their shows usually create a frenzy in the crowd of old school ska fans.

Voodoo Glow Skulls are ready to make their mark on 2012 with their first new release since 2007. Break The Spells arrives January 17th and is being supported by a national tour.

I can’t think of a better-matched band to co-headline a tour with Voodoo Glow Skulls than Authority Zero! Formed in 1994 in Costa Mesa, Arizona, Authority Zero has played with the likes of Everclear, H2O, Unwritten Law, Rehab and has been featured on the Van’s Warped Tour, playing punk/skate/ska music across the country.

Authority Zero is kicking off 2012 with their second acoustic album Less Rhythm, More Booze due out January 31st.

Here’s a taste of what you can expect from Authority Zero live: Authority Zero live \”No Regrets\”

If that doesn’t have you anxious for tickets, I don’t know what would! Fortunately for you, tickets are available through Cascade Tickets for the Portland show on January 25th at the Hawthorne and in Seattle on January 26th at El Corazon!
