Kittie has failed no one.
Kittie‘s August 30, 2011 release I’ve Failed You debuted at number 178 in the Billboard top 200 and sold 3,000 copies in its first week. The music video for the heavy-as-hell single “We Are the Lamb” has more than 130,000 views on YouTube. The headbanger “Empires (Part 2)” showcases the band members’ musicianship and the vocalist’s range of screaming, growling, and singing abilities. The Lander sisters Morgan (lead vocalist and rhythm guitarist) and Mercedes (drummer and backing vocalist) lead the charge on the band’s sixth album.
I’ve Failed You is a technical, lyrical, and emotional progression for the band that was founded in London, Ontario, in 1996. The band has come a long way over the span of 16 years. Kittie first received major recognition after releasing their hit “Brackish” and touring with Slipknot in the early 2000s. After past line-up changes, the quartet has seemed to find a perfect harmony with the Lander sisters, guitarist Tara McLeod, and bassist Trish Doan.
Kittie is performing headlining shows throughout North American this spring in support of their latest album, and is touring with other female metal stars: drummer Justine Ethier from Montreal, Quebec melodic death metal band Blackguard and vocalist Alissa White-Gluz from Montreal melodic death metal band The Agonist.
Kittie, Blackguard, The Agonist, Bonded by Blood, and On Enemy Soil are playing at El Corazon on Tuesday, April 24th, and Wednesday, April 25th at the Hawthorne. Tickets are $20 and on sale now!
